When you get to middle age, dreams become rare or come true. That's something Andrea, art teacher and freelance artist, mother of an almost grown-up daughter, and Marie, an ambitious and successful architect, both experience. Both women lead self-assured lives that are, nevertheless, not free of unfulfilled longings: neither of them has ever had a girlfriend. Andrea and Marie get to know each other whilst on holiday in the South of France. It is friendship at first sight. There are lots of things they can share together, lots of things where they can complement each other. But neither of them are aware that their closeness goes deeper: Marie's husband Ralf is Andrea's lover.
