Large existential questions are at play in Sartre's novel "The Room", here adapted for TV in 1970. A successful business manager Pierre (Moritzen) is losing his mental grip, gradually sliding into psychosis. His relations to the outside world are cut off, and he is left to stay only in one particular, black painted room. His wife Eva (Nørby) tries lovingly and in the best of intentions to understand him and to follow him. There is a price for her to pay for this. She reaches a fatal conclusion.
