Joshua Colwell has a Ph.D. in Astrophysical, Planetary, and Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Colorado (Boulder) where he was a Research Scientist when asked to provide technical advice to the filmmakers of Deep Impact (1998) on the comet and on the effects of the impact of a comet into the ocean.
