In 1997, he won a BAFTA (British Academy) Award for visual effects in his debut effort, Luc Besson's The Fifth Element. In 2002, he won an Academy Award and his second BAFTA Award for visual effects in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings; The Fellowship of the Ring.
