Sandra Fleckenstein was born in Darmstadt, Germany. At the age of 9, she made her first experiences on a film set for German television. After finishing her university-entrance diploma, she began studying film acting in Cologne. In 2007, she successfully finished and decided to study film and theatre science in Mainz on top.
