Mastodon formed in Atlanta, Georgia in the late 90's by the fusion of two errant duos. Guitaristvocalist Brent Hinds and bassistvocalist Troy Sanders one one side, and drummer and guitarist Bill Kelliher (former members of Lethargy and Today Is The Day) on the other.
