The tragic death of Reeva Steenkamp - shot four times by Pistorius through a locked toilet door - and the speculation and frenzied media reporting that ensued, with fact and fiction chaotically merged for public consumption, would captivate the world and throw a harsh spotlight onto both Pistorius and South Africa.
